1920 157 Charlotte Street is Economy Drugs, North Asheville's first drugstore.
1940 Economy Drugs becomes Gordon's Fine Foods, operated by two brothers.
1976 Steven Brady transforms Gordon's into a popular college bar known as The Pub.
1978 Brady enlarges The Pub. He also purchases salvage rights to a 29-room upscale
boarding house, and porches, arches, wainscoting, corbels and windows from
other Victorian houses, as well as the fine staircase and other adornments
from
the building where O. Henry kept his offices, and incorporates them into
the charming second floor and foyer.
1980 The restaurant is enlarged to provide a separate dining room for large parties
and gatherings.
1995 Junell Brady takes over as owner and operator from her father.
2007 The restaurant is remodeled, maintaining the Victorian theme while integrating
a modern, relaxing color palette; the foyer is transformed into a comfortable
